Richard II

Richard II

1367-1400

King of England

Son of Edward the Black Prince, Richard of Bordeaux succeeded his Grandfather Edward III. Upon the death of John of Gaunt, Richard disinherited Gaunt's son, Henry Bolingbroke. Henry invaded England in 1399 and Richard after failing to gather traditional Welsh support was escorted to Flint Castle where he conceded the throne to the soon to be Henry IV. Richard was thought to have been starved to death whilst being held captive.

Richard II

"...Will you shoot your king? I will be your chief and captain, you shall have from me that which you seek...."
